Evoqua expands in North America with Smith Engineering acquisition

Evoqua Water Technologies has entered into a definitive settlement to acquire Smith Engineering Inc, a US designer, producer and servicer of customized excessive purity water therapy gear.
Headquartered in Chaska, Minnesota, Smith Engineering offers water therapy products and services, together with filtration, UV, reverse osmosis, and deionization, for the biotech/pharmaceutical, knowledge centre, meals and beverage, healthcare, medical device and microelectronics markets. The firm has more than 1,200 clients in North America.
Evoqua says that the acquisition will improve its portfolio of excessive purity water therapy methods and increase its service footprint in North America.
Verify has built a strong reputation as a trusted associate, offering reliable high purity water solutions and providers to their broad buyer portfolio,” said Ron Keating, Evoqua’s CEO. “This addition will further strengthen our service footprint in North America, enabling us to higher serve our clients.”
When the deal closes, the Smith Engineering enterprise will be part of Evoqua’s Integrated Solutions and Services phase.
